How does Super Mario Galaxy compare to Super Mario Sunshine?
Sunshine remains one of my favorite games of all time, so how much fun would I have with Galaxy?
I personally loved Super Mario Galaxy more than Super Mario Sunshine simply because of the enhanced graphics, new aspects of gameplay platforming, and the fact that you can play through it in no particular order without losing track of what you’re doing. The soundtrack was better, too.
To this day, I only have 118 (of the 120) Shine Sprites in Sunshine simply because I have no idea where the remaining Blue Coins I’m missing are located. I could go try to find them, but that would still take awhile. As for Galaxy, I collected all 120 Stars with both Mario and Luigi (two playthroughs) and I thoroughly enjoyed it both times.
If my explanation isn’t enough to convince you to purchase Galaxy, think about the fact that Galaxy was such a huge success that Nintendo is releasing Super Mario Galaxy 2 sometime in 2010. I’m so excited to get it when it comes out.
Either way, playing the first Galaxy should be a neccesity to build up the anticipation for the second. And besides, Super Mario Galaxy got much better reviews across the board compared to Super Mario Sunshine. Good luck!
